Neurofeedback Therapy is not just a noninvasive, drug-free approach to optimizing brain health; it's a pathway to enhancing how you think, act, and feel. It holds the potential to unlock new levels of cognitive performance and emotional well-being.
Your brain weighs about 2 pounds, yet it uses almost 50% of your body's blood glucose. This glucose is used to create electrochemical energy (or electricity), which enables your brain to carry out all of its functions, like learning and emotional regulation.
When we place noninvasive electrodes (sensors) on your head, we record your unique electrical activity in the form of brainwaves (QEEG Brain Map). Each brainwave occurs at a different frequency. Slow brainwaves (Delta and Theta) and fast brainwaves (Beta) are measured in cycles per second.
Slow brainwaves reflect that your brain is under-aroused or functioning at a reduced capacity for mental efficiency. They occur during sleep and daydreaming. When your brain is producing predominantly fast brainwaves (Beta), it is more fully aroused; you are alert and focused, and networks of neurons in the brain are engaged to process information fully.
Faster brainwaves (Beta) need to be dominant to control attention, behavior, emotions, and learning. If you produce too many slow brainwaves (Delta or Theta) or too few fast brainwaves (Beta), your brain will operate at a reduced capacity.
Neurofeedback Therapy is simply brainwave biofeedback. With neurofeedback training, you can learn to improve and strengthen your brainwave patterns.
The underlying principle of Neurofeedback Therapy is rooted in the natural ability of the brain to self-regulate. It can learn to function more efficiently when provided with accurate feedback about its activity, making neurofeedback a safe and effective approach to brain health.

Neurofeedback Therapy is a safe and effective treatment option for people of all ages. At NeuroPeak Center, we specialize in working with children aged five and above, as well as families. Many parents have reported seeing significant benefits in their children's health and well-being after undergoing Neurofeedback Therapy with us.
It's worth noting that there is no upper age limit for Neurofeedback Therapy. We work with older adults to help alleviate symptoms related to dementia and Alzheimer's disease.
At NeuroPeak Center, we are committed to providing a safe and effective treatment option for people of all ages.

All neurofeedback should begin with a Quantitative Electroencephalogram (QEEG) evaluation.
The QEEG is an assessment tool that objectively and scientifically evaluates your brainwave patterns.
We begin the QEEG Brain Map by placing a snug cap on your head. Embedded within the cap are 12 small sensors designed to measure and record your electrical activity (or brainwaves). These sensors do not put any electrical current into the brain – they simply record signals from your brain.
This data is statistically compared to a sophisticated and sizable normative database so your report can be generated and specific protocols assigned. Your protocols are designed to retrain your unique brainwave patterns toward more normative patterns. As your brainwave patterns normalize, your brain can operate more optimally and efficiently.

At Neuropeak Center, we measure your unique brainwave activity and provide real-time feedback to help you learn to self-regulate your brain function.
We place state-of-the-art sensors on your scalp to monitor the electrical activity produced by your brain. Next, you sit back and watch your favorite show or movie while the equipment sends your brain's signal to our computer.
Our system then provides your brain with biofeedback through the audio and visual cortex, thus retraining your brain. Our advanced software then processes this information to provide feedback through visual or auditory cues. Through this process, you learn to improve your brainwave patterns.
Over time, with repeated training sessions, you may experience improvements in your brain function and symptoms related to various neurological or psychological conditions.
-
Though disorders may be biological or neurological in nature, you can retrain your brain to normal or improved functioning, decreasing or completely resolving negative symptoms.
Unlike temporary treatments, neurofeedback therapy can lead to long-term improvement. What you learn in the center during treatment sessions will allow you to practice and integrate it into everyday situations until it becomes your natural state.

When administered by a licensed professional with proper training (like NeuroPeak Center), people typically do not experience any adverse side effects. However, there can be mild potential side effects, which are temporary. Some possible side effects of Neurofeedback Therapy may include fatigue, headaches, heightened emotional sensitivity, and sleep disturbances.
The FDA acknowledges that since Neurofeedback Therapy was first discovered in the 1950s, no serious side effects have been reported.

Clients can pay with all major credit cards, cash, and medical credit cards.
While we cannot bill through insurance or Medicaid/Medicare at the moment, many of our clients have been successfully reimbursed for their paid services using CPT Codes: 95957 for QEEG brain mapping and 90901 for Neurofeedback Brain Training.
We do not have an NPI number and, therefore, cannot be “in/out of network” for providers.
We do not require referrals.
